I’m crazy! Its been quite some time since my last update………woops! Anyway, here goes.
I’ve been in the studio with my other band "Guse" and really trying to crank out a demo. Things have been going well though, we finished most of the base tracks in one weekend of pain. We are now working on finishing overdubs and correcting bad spots then on to mastering…….this process is very long. We are going to be posting the three new tracks soon on myspace.com/guserock. We are hoping to have them done by our Nov. 12th show………but we’ll see about that.
Everyone should get ready for The ATB at Bobby T’s on the 10th (happy Veteran’s Day!). It is going to be a great show!
I’m still trying to finish my education…………….I only have 8 credit hours left after December so the end is in sight………hell yes!!!!
Besides that I’ve been working my ass off and trying to keep myself sane……..which of late has been fairly difficult.
My wife has entered an art fair………….everyone cross your fingers that she gets in, it could be a great opportunity for her.
I finally spent some time organizing my new drum kit into what I want it to be…………and WOW, it is an ass-kicker folks. Just in time though, I’m headed back into the studio soon with "Cock the Bolt" to finish up our album.

Well, the Medicine Lodge Indians will be playing on Halloween in Garden Plain tomorrow night. Exactly eleven years ago tomorrow, I was playing on Halloween in Medicine Lodge against a dominant Wichita Collegiate team. I will never forget leaving Krug field that night and looking back up to the hallowed ground. A thick fog had set in and with the glow of the lights, the place looked as if surrounded by a halo. Tomorrow night I will make the trip to Garden Plain to watch my hometown team take on another dominant team, though one they have beat once this year. A victory tomorrow will take the Indians the furthest into the state playoffs since they were state runner’s up in 1987.

I picked up the Kansas State Collegian today and saw some familiar names. Aaron Traffas, Dusty Feighner and Chris Goering to start. The paper featured a couple different articles recounting Aggiefest.

Friday the thirteenth at Bobby T’s was frustrating. My microphones quit working. My ear monitors didn’t work correctly. My guitar quit playing intermittently. My tuner didn’t work correctly. Pretty much everything I touched on Friday turned to quit. I saw someone run over a black cat the other day. Is that worse than just one crossing in front of you?
After five hours of sleep, I attended three hours of meetings and drove nearly four hours home for Busters. Just Aaron and me this time around which was fun. Met the man that inspired Aaron to write "Fencepost." Turned out he was a huge Old 97’s fan too. Wild. There was a huge rattlesnake skin with legs hanging down from the middle of curtain behind us. I named it Ribeye. He took requests all night. Thanks to the dinner crowd for eating.
Decided to stick around the ol’ Lodge yesterday. Dad roped me into planting trees. If anyone thinks that Kansas isn’t in the dire straits of a drought, they have not tried to dig a hole lately. It was nice to be home and feeling helpful around the house. Sometimes I am not there long enough to say hi.
On the way home today my car tried to quit. It only has 140,000 miles on it so I don’t understand the problem. There was a bearing squealing like it was on a Masse…, uh, John Deere. At least it didn’t start a field on fire. I made it to Midway Motors where brother Gabe and the crew took the car and sent me down the road in a sweet 06 Gran Prix. I remember getting the bottom of the barrel loaner cars; I guess having a brother in high places is a good thing! I promise not to torture it Gabe…like we used to when we were just smartass punk grandsons of the former owner of the dealership. Someone bought a purple Z28 from there that we test drove into the ground one afternoon. To top it off, I got a message from the bank when I got home: the car is officially mine. Great.
Get ready for a wild weekend. I will be in Wichita Wednesday through Friday, Emporia that night, Aggiefest all day Saturday and Topeka on Sunday. Hope to see you there, g

Manhattan, more importantly the famous Aggieville area, will be invaded by 70 bands on October 21 for the first annual Aggiefest. For more information www.myspace.com/mmclive
Aaron Traffas Band at the Trailer, uh, Triangle Park at 11 AM. This will be an early show, especially considering Aaron is playing the night before in Emporia. Then Dusty will play solo shows at 12 and 4 that day. As the token bass player I will get to play music all day and that is exciting. I hope the event is well attended for the sake of the event. In looking at the schedule there will be as much music variety as ever has been in Manhattan. Truly something for everyone just like country stampede….
Be sure to stop by and say hi at Bobby T’s this Friday or at Buster’s this Saturday. I am very much looking forward to both shows.

Never been here before but so far this place is impressive, a first class midwest city.
Happy Birthday to my roommate and dear friend Annie! I really don’t think she reads this but tell her for me if you get a chance. She is 16 today. Happy Birthday Annie!
Nice drive up here too. Caught up on some thinking time.

Well I guess I am heading to Iowa tomorrow, also known as Omaha, Nebraska. Doing a couple of presentations at the IRA conference up there. Going to be talking to them about weapon strategies, new car bombing techniques, and reconaissance….
Am still up working on getting the powerpoint and examples ready tonight. Thank god for the night before.
Studio 60 and The Sunset Strip. Check it out if you get a chance. Just watched two episodes with the Aaron Traffas. I never watched TV before I started hanging out with him.
We have had a bit of a break here since Peace Treaty compared to the time leading up to it. Took in the Rolling Stones in Wichita this last Sunday; those guys are incredible. Jagger runs around with the energy of a five year old that ate five pounds of sugar for breakfast and continues to sing throughout. Pretty impressive. He was rollerskate skinny.
The ol’ ATB will be back at Heart Attack Jack’s this Sunday. Aaron said he would send an email newsletter out to the fine folks in the Topeka area. See you there or see you around. Bobby T’s and Buster’s next weekend.
